Sportswear has become an important part of the modern wardrobe. Trainers and tracksuits are more likely to be seen on the high street than shirts and suits, and high performance textiles developed for athletes can be found on the world's fashion catwalks.
Fashion V Sport reveals the influence of sportswear on fashion and how both industries have been inspired by street style.
Divided into four sections, Dare, Display, Play and Desire, and using outfits and objects from the world's top fashion houses and sports brands, the exhibition guides the visitor through the complex and creative connections between the two worlds of fashion and sport.
Touring exhibition from the V&A. |

To commemorate our 50th anniversary we have created a display which reflects the last five decades of collecting. Each week throughout the year we will display a specially selected unique item from our collections. The items have been chosen by members of staff to reflect the diversity of the collections and will include many items rarely seen by the public.
There is also a display about the life and work of Sir Alfred Herbert, the industrialist whose endowment helped to found the Museum.
